Most parts that need to be made don't start as CAD files. They start as a napkin sketch, a worn original, or a description of what the part has to do. That's a fine place to start.

We model from whatever you have — a hand drawing, a photo, measurements off an existing part, or a verbal brief. The goal isn't just a 3D model: it's a model that accounts for how the part will be cut, bent, welded, or printed, so what gets made matches what was intended.

Once the geometry is right, we produce the deliverables the job actually needs — STEP files for machining or fabrication, STL or 3MF for printing, and dimensioned drawings for anyone who needs to check or quote the work. If the part is heading into our own fabrication or print shop, the handoff is seamless. If you need files to take elsewhere, those are yours.

Materials & process

The deliverable format depends on where the part is going. Parts headed to fabrication leave as STEP files with a dimensioned drawing. Parts going to print leave as STL or 3MF, sized and oriented for the process. If a part will be made here, we handle the DFM ourselves — minimum bend radii, weld access, print orientation, wall thickness — so nothing surprises us on the shop floor. If the files are going to a third party, we flag the same considerations in the drawing notes.

Turnaround depends on complexity. A straightforward bracket or adapter can move from brief to final files in a day or two. Parts that need several rounds of DFM review or reverse engineering from physical measurements take longer — we'll give you a realistic timeline when we scope the job. Revisions are part of the process, not an extra line item.
